AGRI-Terra PRODUCT GUIDE
CAL AGRI PRODUCTS
introduces the development of a environmentally safe soil treatment for
managing nematodes and some soil pathogens for both pre-plant and post-plant
applications. The new product will be sold under the trade name, Agri-Terra.
Agri-Terra is a suspension concentrate
soil treatment that can be applied as a preplant soil treatment using standard
soil application equipment. Agri-Terra can be safely applied to growing crops
through drench applications or injection into sprinkler or drip irrigation
systems.

Dilute applications of
Agri-Terra to soil under experimental and field conditions have shown
significant increases in plant growth, vigor and harvested yield in the
presence of nematodes and pathogens. Research and field development defining
the spectrum of activity for Agri-Terra is ongoing. The following is a brief
summary of research progress evaluating Agri-Terra for nematode management (see
Agri-Terra Guide [pdf]).
LABORATORY TRIALS:
Agri-Terra Efficacy
Against Second Stage Juveniles of the Root-Knot Nematode
Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne
incognita) were removed from greenhouse tomato plants and held in a sterile
solution. Nematodes were placed in treatment solutions containing three
concentrations of Agri-Terra and assessed for mortality at 24 and 96 hours.
